Welcome

The 13th International Conference on Automated People Movers and Transit Systems will be held in Paris, Palais des Congrès, from May 22 to 26, 2011.

This conference APM-ATS 2011 is the appointment of worldwide professionals who want to share their experiences and innovations regarding fully automated transit systems. It gathers every two years, hundreds of specialists: engineers, researchers, manufacturers, consultants, operators, urban planners and project developers.

Paris was chosen in 2011 because the metro Line 1 is in process to begin operating fully automated unattended trains. This significant upgrading of an old system is being completed without any interruption to the line’s service. This project ushers in a new era for all old major metro lines in big cities around the world. For futher information about the metro Line 1 project, click here.

The Conference will also give a large part to the “Personal Rapid Transit” (PRT) systems as Heathrow Airport in London and Masdar City in Abu Dhabi. It will include discussion of the exciting possibilities of PRT, the progress of PRT suppliers' development, and the planning of PRT networks

Paris, with its vibrant city life and well-known hospitality, and the APM-ATS 2011 Organizing Committee are looking forward to welcoming you to the May 2011 13th APM-ATS Conference, for an exceptional opportunity to develop jointly a pragmatic long-range vision of fully automated transportation systems for the 21st Century.
